Genomics is the study of the structure and function of genomes.

A genome is an organism’s complete set of genetic instructions - each genome contains all of the information needed to build that organism and allow it to grow and develop. The knowledge gained from genomics research is going to have a transformational impact for New Zealand - on human health and wellbeing, the economy and the long-term sustainability of our environment.
