With MBIE’s recent approval of the GA Work Programme, we are now able to begin the process of developing initial projects. The process will begin with a call for proposals, the breadth of which will vary based on both timing and topic.
Projects will proceed through an iterative development phase followed by sequential assessment: science quality and economic impact, Vision Mātauranga, international science quality review, strategic alignment.
The Assessor group membership will be approved by the Board (based on nominations from the Science Advisory Forum and co-Directors) and will include a mixture of individuals with science and commercial expertise.
This group will, through the experience of its membership, assess projects for all the above criteria. For economic value assessment, key experts will assess value, scoring economic benefit across key criteria. Projects may be sent back to the development stage for improvement.
Projects passing the Assessor group will be sent to an independent VM assessor, and then to our International Advisory Panel for science quality review. Input from project proposers will be sought in response to these reviews.
The project and all advice will then be sent to the Board for final decision-making (which may include changes to the project before approval or conditions after approval).
